processing.org (at last) released Processing 1.0 beta software one week ago. it's now available for public download...
great libs already included :
network send and receive operations, serial port interface, and several cool sound tools - jsyn, osc and max/msp interface -
nice alternative to Flash ?
maybe not for public web works ( JRE is sometimes a bit tricky to install for newbies, moreover if with plugins ), but it's certainly a great(er) tool for network, and local computer works, together with other tools...
anyway let's take some time (!!) to experiment
